I don’t know about you, but I could be reading the most phenomenal book that everyone has recommended to me and if I’m not it the mood/mindset for that type of book then I’m not able to enjoy it as much as I would if I read it another time. It’s the same for me with shows and movies. For example, I’ve picked up A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara at least 5 times and only gotten through the first two chapters before I realize I’m not ready to read this book that I have no doubt will be a favorite of mine. And so, that’s why I’ve put together these lists for you—so you can see a selection of my favorite books broken down by “reading mood”. Sometimes I need a good cry, sometimes I want to be distracted with a thriller, sometimes I crave a nostalgic classic, sometimes I want to escape into a fantasy world. Paying attention to my mood and picking my next read accordingly has made reading so much more fulfilling for me!
